Project Overview
MediTrack needed a patient-facing app that clinicians could trust and patients could actually use — appointment booking, medication reminders and care team messaging in one place, without the clunky UX typical of healthcare software. We designed a native-feeling React Native app with an onboarding flow that gets new patients booked within two minutes.
Challenges
Fragmented Care Team Messaging
Patients were messaging different providers through different tools, so care teams lost context and patients repeated themselves constantly.
Complex Multi-Provider Scheduling
Booking an appointment meant checking availability across multiple providers and locations, a process patients frequently abandoned.
Unreliable Medication Reminders
Patients in low-connectivity areas missed reminders whenever the app couldn't reach the server, undermining the app's core promise.
HIPAA/GDPR-Conscious Architecture
Every screen touching patient data needed to satisfy both US and UK health-data regulations from day one, not bolted on after launch.
Accessibility for Elderly & Low-Vision Patients
A significant share of MediTrack's patients are older adults, and the existing prototype failed basic accessibility checks.
